The Local 89 Mission

LIUNA Local 89’s mission is to provide stable employment and financial security to its members and their families. Local 89 delivers a path to the middle class to its membership by negotiating livable wages and protecting benefit standards for workers in San Diego County. It is the Laborers Training and Retraining Trust’s mission to furnish participating Southern California Construction Contractors with a highly skilled, trained and motivated workforce that is willing to meet the growing standards of a continuously changing industry.
